State-to-State Moves

Leaving Florida? Start With a Conversation

A move across state lines isn't a bigger version of a local move — it's a different job, with different rules. There's no honest "standard price" for one, which is why we don't put a price tag on this page. Tell us where you're headed and what you're taking, and we'll walk through exactly what your move would look like and what it would cost — in writing, before moving day.

Straight talk: Moves that cross state lines are regulated by the U.S. Department of Transportation (FMCSA). Any company hauling your household goods to another state for pay must hold federal operating authority (a USDOT/MC number) — and you can verify any mover, free, at fmcsa.dot.gov before you hand over a deposit. Ask every mover you talk to for theirs. We're building our state-to-state service the right way, so every long-distance run with us starts as an individual quote and a straight conversation about how it will work.

How a state-to-state move works

  • Inventory first. Long-distance pricing is based mainly on what you're moving and how far it's going. We build an inventory list together — room by room — so the estimate is based on your actual belongings, not a guess.
  • A written estimate, always. Federal rules require a written estimate before the truck is loaded. It will be one of two types, and we'll tell you which: binding (the price is locked for the items and services listed) or non-binding (a good-faith estimate — final cost is based on the actual weight/services, and by law you can't be required to pay more than 110% of the estimate at delivery, with the balance billed after).
  • Deposits, in plain terms. A deposit may be needed to reserve your dates and truck. Whatever is due — and when (booking, pickup, delivery) — goes in writing before we start. No surprise holds, no "pay more or we keep your stuff." Federal law flatly prohibits a mover from holding your belongings hostage over a payment dispute beyond what the bill of lading allows.
  • Delivery windows, not delivery hours. A long-distance move is delivered inside an agreed window of days (based on distance and load size), not at an exact hour. Your estimate will state your window, and we'll confirm timing as the truck rolls. Plan your first nights accordingly — we'll help you think through what to keep with you.

Routes we talk about most

Most inquiries we get are Florida families heading to Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee, and Texas — and just as many folks moving back home to South Florida. Wherever you're going, the first step is the same: call, tell us the route and the date, and we'll tell you straight whether we're the right mover for that run.
